During June 28 – 30, TTP hosted a training course entitled “HIV IQC in Serology Testing” for six delegates from Vietnam MOH. The purposes of the course were;
The delegation included senior representatives of Pasteur Institute in Hochiminh City along with MOH officials from National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) and a staff from the Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
The delegation was accompanied by Mr.Humberto Carvalho, a coordinator from Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC –Vietnam) and was sponsored by the Global AIDS Program (GAP), US CDC.
TTP section has supported the MOH of Vietnam in both technical knowledge and laboratory practice with a long-standing relationship. As always, the course received a full contribution from a Senior Laboratory Advisor of GAP, Ms. Wilai Chalermchan.
Through the course, participants obtained a better understanding on HIV IQC in serological laboratories to improve laboratory quality. They could further distribute and implement knowledge gained to their laboratories and others as well.
